Today we celebrate an extraordinary milestone: 13 years of Tao Technologies! Founded on September 11, 2012 by Dr. Fabio Fontana, our company has followed a path of relentless innovation and dedication to improving health and well-being. What began as a personal quest to overcome chronic pain has turned into a global movement, bringing Taopatch® nanotechnology all over the world.
In these 13 years, we have turned challenges into opportunities, building a bright present and a promising future. Your trust, together with the support of our professionals and the determination of our athletes, have been the beating heart of every result and the inspiration that guides us to continuously improve.
To celebrate this milestone, we want to share what this journey has meant to us and what prospects we see for the future. On the occasion of our 13th birthday, Stefano Mion, host of the program "On the Wings of Health", came to visit us for an unconventional interview with our CEO, Dr. Fabio Fontana.

Innovation at the service of health
As the name suggests, Tao means "way of continuous improvement" and from the first prototype made in 2006 to today, our path of continuous evolution has led us to develop 14 models of devices and 5 cutting-edge photobiomodulation tools . The scientific solidity of our foundations is confirmed by the 2023 Nobel Prize in Chemistry, awarded to the inventors of quantum dots, the technology on which our work is based.
The effectiveness of Taopatch® is supported by 12 scientific studies, 4 of which indexed on PubMed, and by over 20 degree theses at prestigious Italian universities. In addition, our nanotechnology has been included for the second time in the Master in Sports Posturology of the University of Enna Kore, confirming our role in the academic world.
Training and professional network of excellence
Tao Technologies has grown exponentially, training over 4,000 professionals in Italy. In recent years, we have increased to 19 the number of Taopatch® professional courses organized each year that have seen the participation of thousands of professionals in the classroom. Dr. Fontana conducted the first qualifying international professional course in English, and our Taopatch® Online Academy offers over 600 hours of advanced training and more than 100 webinars. Today we are present in many countries around the world and our expansion has taken us to 3 continents: Europe, America and Asia.
A concrete impact on people's lives
Our mission to help people is reflected in over 2 million Taopatch® devices sold and 14 million people to whom they have been applied worldwide. The technology is used in the treatment of several conditions, including: postural disorders; neurological diseases such as Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson's, post-stroke and cerebellar ataxia; pain syndromes such as fibromyalgia, low back pain, sciatica, neck pain, migraine and headache; joint diseases such as arthritis and osteoarthritis, as well as traumatic and chronic pain; sports rehabilitation; learning and psycho-emotional disorders.

Triumphs in sport and beyond
Sport is one of the sectors where our impact is most evident. We have had over 300 brand ambassadors, with whom we have celebrated thousands of races and competitions won nationally and internationally. The dozens of Olympic medals are the brightest symbol: team silver in Paris with the Fairies of Artistic Gymnastics, individual golds and bronzes of Alice D'Amato and Manila Esposito and the 5 medals of Carlotta Gilli at the Paralympics. Other successes include those of Paola Padovan (4th place in the Italian all-time ranking in the javelin throw), Virginia Troiani (second fastest Italian ever in the 400 meters), Viola Lallo (absolute Italian karate champion), Michael Magnesi (second WBC Silver Featherweight title and 3rd in the world in the ranking), Michele Antonelli (bronze at the World Walking Championships), Mattia Cattapan (Italian Autocross title), Asja Zenere (Super-G European Cup), Luca Rigoldi (second WBA Featherweight title), Sebastiano Paterniti (world and European beach soccer champion).
And we were also chosen by a tennis legend.
Recognition on national and international stages
Our technology has attracted media attention around the world. Even Oscar winner Robert Downey Jr. uses our devices, bringing them into the spotlight around the world.
We received coverage on Rai, Rete 102.5, Class CNBC and many other broadcasters. Dr. Fontana has been a recurring guest on 6 television broadcasts and interviewed by several others, including RAI TGR Veneto, RTL 102.5 and Zeus (Sky Italia).
Our story has been reported in thousands of national and world newspapers and magazines, from Il Sole 24 Ore to Forbes, from La Repubblica to The Sun. In addition, we were the protagonists of a documentary directed by Federico Moccia with the actor Mirko Frezza, which will soon be distributed on Discovery and Amazon Prime.
Social commitment and prestigious awards
Tao Technologies is not only innovation, but also deep social commitment. We support 7 organizations and associations such as Città della Speranza, I Bambini delle Fate and Welfare Care, and we have donated the BODY STATION photobiomodulation tools to two centers for the elderly. Dr. Fabio Fontana has received 7 awards and recognitions, including the Golden Lion of Merit 2025 for entrepreneurship and innovation in medicine.
