Brescia at the center of world gymnastics, inauguration of the International Gymnastics Center

Brescia today inaugurated the International Gymnastics Center, a new structure dedicated to high-level artistic gymnastics and destined to become an international reference point for the preparation of female athletes.
The center was created with the aim of offering the International Academy an autonomous and modern space, separate from the headquarters of Brixia, which will continue to be dedicated to Brescia society. A structure designed to meet the needs of contemporary gymnastics, where technique, physical preparation and daily support to the athletes coexist in the same environment.
The heart of the facility is the gym with equipment from the main international brands: a choice designed to allow gymnasts to train on different types of equipment and get to the most important competitions already accustomed to the different conditions they may encounter in competition.
On the ground floor there is the gym, six changing rooms (four dedicated to athletes and two to technicians) as well as rooms equipped with technological tools for working on posture and physical preparation, a Taopatch room, the canteen and spaces dedicated to the daily life of the center.
The upper floor houses the guesthouse, with 16 rooms for a total of 42 beds, and a common area also designed for the study and leisure of the athletes.
The project was promoted by the Municipality of Brescia and carried out thanks to PNRR funds, the Non-deferrable Works Fund and municipal own resources, with the aim of creating a building at the height of the best international centers in the discipline.
The opening day saw the cutting of the ribbon, the visit of the structure, the speeches of the Italian champions and the press conference, also in the presence of athletes and protagonists of Italian gymnastics such as Vanessa Ferrari and Lorenzo Bonicelli.
The International Gymnastics Center thus represents a new investment in the future of Italian artistic gymnastics: a place designed to accompany the growth of female athletes and support the preparation of the Italian artistic gymnastics
