Taopatch® and Sport at the Giorgio Lago Juniores Award 2026
The tenth edition of the Giorgio Lago Juniores Award 2026, a prestigious journalism competition dedicated to high school students in Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia, has just ended in Treviso. Tao Technologies was proud to be once again a sponsor of this initiative, whose theme this year was the link between the Olympics and peace, a crucial topic in a historical period unfortunately marked by numerous international conflicts.
Taopatch's® commitment to the world of sport
For us, who work alongside athletes on a daily basis to support their well-being, improve performance and accompany them in competitive challenges, sport is a fundamental area. For years we have been following champions in every discipline, from cycling to volleyball, from athletics to artistic gymnastics, of which we are the official supplier of the FGI, the Italian Gymnastics Federation, and sponsor of the national team jersey.
Giorgio Lago and the Olympic values
Gymnastics, a discipline that combines rigor, dedication and an absolute search for perfection, was in the heart of the famous journalist Giorgio Lago, to whom the award is named:
"If I had to bring my testimony as a journalist sent for 20 years to the 5 continents, I would choose a gymnast as the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my life".
Lago recognized that the Olympics, while bringing with them the contradictions of modernity, manage to sublimate the very essence of sport. For the Venetian journalist, every Olympic feat of this magnitude represented an "ecumenical, multi-ethnic, global gesture", capable of uniting people far beyond divisions.
The young protagonists of the Giorgio Lago Juniores Award 2026
This is exactly the spirit that the Award wanted to convey to the 67 very young aspiring journalists in the competition. The winners of this edition, Martina Faccio, Sara Perin and Riccardo Antonello, had the opportunity to listen to true sports icons during the ceremony, such as the high jump champion Sara Simeoni, the rower Rossano Galtarossa and the Paralympic swimmer Manuel Bortuzzo.
Sport, resilience and new generations
Through the stories of these champions, the students understood the importance of going beyond the mere competitive result to embrace deep values such as resilience and daily commitment. Taopatch, by supporting events such as the Giorgio Lago Award, reaffirms its commitment not only to physically support athletes, but also to promote a healthy sports culture, made up of common passion, sensitivity and awareness for the new generations.
The Giorgio Lago Juniores Award 2026 represented a valuable opportunity to reflect on the role of sport as a tool for dialogue, growth and training. In this context, Taopatch renews its commitment to supporting sport not only as a performance, but also as a vehicle of values, education and awareness.
